Australia
My siblings and I grew up watching The Crocodile Hunter on Animal Planet with my dad. Steve Irwin was my first real-life crush, as just a little girl. I was eleven years old when he died, and I remember crying in my room for hours the night of his memorial. Back then, Australia was in an inaccessible world with the coolest creatures that only existed on TV. I did not imagine at that time that I'd ever see Steve Irwin's zoo, let alone move to Australia. For my thirtieth birthday, I visited the zoo, fulfilling an over two decades' long dream. Watching Robert Irwin feed the crocodiles in the same fashion as his father was surreal. The zoo is no longer merely a dream, but beautiful memories of a story coming full circle.
